Galway Céilí Club

Founded in 2024 by Joe Gray and Ryan McKenna, Galway Céilí Club is a lively, grassroots set dancing club that has taken off quickly. Inspired by a festival in France where hundreds of people of all ages danced together, they realised Irish social dancing could feel just as alive and contemporary. Now, every Monday and Thursday in Kennedy’s Bar on Eyre Square, you’ll find people of all ages discovering that céilí and set dancing are for everyone, not just experts.

They offer Irish set dancing and céilí classes, with a touch of European folk and a big emphasis on fun over perfection. The aim is to grow a new generation of confident set dancers who are proud of their heritage and keep the tradition moving forward. Above all, Galway Céilí Club is about having the craic, community and getting more people dancing together.
