Trad Rave
Using modern DJ and turntablism skills, the duo sequence and mix classic and new trad music with beats and bass. The project was started four years ago by DJ PCP, aka Colm Olwill, and Djackulate, aka Jack Dempsey. Colm grew up on ballads and beats. He's a mainstay of Irish and UK festivals, running the Gramophone Disco and the Haunt venues at the Electric Picnic and the hole-in-the-ground piano bar in Glastonbury. Playing and running raves, free partiesand clubs since the early ’90s.
Expect classics from Sean O’ Riada, The Chieftains, Planxty, Christy Moore, The Bothy Band, Horslips, and modern bangers from Cormac Begley, the Mary Wallopers, Lankum, Brighde Chaimbeul, Ross Ainslie and a selection of world folk from Scotland to the Middle East and beyond.
